Great Tans don't happen by chance!

Getting the perfect tan can be difficult especially if you haven't been blessed with a recent holiday! I love to be tanned and bronzed as I always look healthier, it makes me feel slimmer and it definitely influences my choice in clothing. Here is my top tip for that perfect glow.

The St. Tropez Spray Tan Treatment is the quickest way to get a professional finish. It takes around 15 minutes and because of the aroma guard technology it minimises that awful spray tan smell by around 70%!

I defuzzed (shaved and waxed) 24 hours before the treatment. I exfoliated using my Lush cosmetics cup o' coffee face and body scrub because I couldn't find my St. Tropez tan enhancing body polish. I'm obsessed with both of these products. I ensured I paid special attention to any dry areas of the body such as hands, elbows, knees and feet. On the day of the treatment I showered in the morning applied moisturiser and deodorant as usual and went to work. Before the treatment that evening I showered again but I ensured I did not moisturise and I did not wear any deodorant.

Make sure you wear dark loose clothing, I recommend a floaty dress you can step into and some sliders on your feet. You don't want to wear anything light just in case there is a transfer on to your clothes.

The treatment itself lasts around 15 minutes and there is a professional who will carry out the spray tan. The bronzing mist will dry on your skin in just a few minutes so you can get dressed straight after the treatment.

There are 4 different solutions to choose from:

Classic, Sensitive, Dark and Express. As I wanted a golden glow I opted for the Classic. This is natural looking, streak-free and should give you a natural bronzed glow without looking orange!

The tan started developing immediately after the treatment. I was told to leave it to develop for 8 hours before washing it off. I suggest if you have it done in the evening wear loose pyjamas and lay down a towel on the bed so there isn't a transfer onto your bed sheets. If it does transfer it's not the end of the world as it will wash out.

In the morning shower as usual but be careful not to scrub and make sure you moisturise. On the second day the tan will still be developing, and I noticed I was considerably darker by lunch time.

It will last around 7-10 days but you need to ensure you keep your skin moisturised and hydrated to help prolong the tan. If you are doing this before your holiday just note that chlorine from the pool can bleach the skin so your tan will fade faster.

Overall I love my results. I have an even streak free tan which has a golden glow! If you want that extra bit of sparkle add an illuminator such as the St. Tropez skin illuminator over the skin. However you tan just remember my beauties, do your research and if you are in the sun stay safe and always wear SPF.
